The story behind Quintaum

Our story is hidden in Quintaum name. The word “quintessential” represents the most perfect, the superior. The term “AUM” refers to the “Assets Under Management” in finance and in Hindu “AUM” represents the sound of infinitive and of the entire Universe. To reach this state you need to balance Earth, Air, Fire and Water and a putative fifth element – “quinta essentia”, that was believed to be superior, and so, “quintessential.”

In other words, Quintaum means that the superior, the best, the quintessential asset of all and any organizations, communities and nations are – The People.

Therefore, we invite you to increase the awareness of your Life Pulses and to take back the control of your life!

Improving your soul energy: Art, Awe & Being Lazy

When your soul is on fire, you can quickly come up with creative solutions or break the hard nuts of your assignment. That is when your soul energy is up and you can easily get “in the flow.”

When you are not “in the flow,” you probably need a break, or perhaps even be lazy. As… everything you touched in this mood, looked terrible. Your brain was worthless. Death tissue.

While such uninspiring days happen to every one of us occasionally, it becomes a problem when most of the week runs the same unremarkable course. So, how can you help yourself to be “in the flow” more often?

1. Look at the great arts to find inspiration anew.

You can increase your soul energy when you look at the work of great painters, the likes of Pablo Picasso or Henri Matisse. Or when you read a great novel such as The Waves by Virginia Woolf or The Abyss by Marguerite Yourcenar. Or take more abstract art such as the movie Baraka by Ron Fricke and Mark Magidson. Art is the output of soul work and has been of our greatest, most powerful civilizational tools, advancing our culture, and inducing ideas greater than life. So, always explore works of art with zest and zeal.

2. Travel and see places. Experience awe.

You may find yourself stunned in awe scanning the intricate Rose Windows of the Notre-Dame in Paris. Even more soul-moving is the fact that these divine artifacts of art and spirituality have survived during the recent fire that destroyed a significant part of the cathedral structure.

Experiencing “awe” is a sensation when you become entirely overwhelmed by something bigger than you. It’s such a powerful feeling that it even alters the way you see the world, say psychologists. Therefore, it’s not only the complexity of Notre-Dame’s Rose Windows, but also the vastness of the Grand Canyon, or the sight of thousands of fireflies at twilight when in nature.

According to one study, experiencing awe even lets us feel like we have more time, in a way that we are less impatient. And all of this is, of course, great for your soul!

3. Be lazy from time to time.

It’s also good to remember that it’s not a sin to do nothing or get bored occasionally. In fact, “there is evidence that for people to perform to their peak ability they need to experience a certain amount of arousal or anxiety. Too little and they are bored and get careless, and too much means that stress impairs performance,” says Dr. Sandi Mann, a senior psychology lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire.

“We need to see [boredom] as an important human state. If we know more about what makes us bored, we would perhaps learn more about what we find satisfying. If we didn’t experience boredom, we wouldn’t be able to appreciate engagement in activity that we find stimulating and consider how to make our lives more meaningful,” she says.

Therefore, enjoy each time you get all bored and lazy. Grab a book. Go chasing fireflies. Or just do nothing at all. It’s this way how you nourish your soul.

The truth is, for most of the time you’ll have to “steal time” or even be a little bit selfish so you can properly nourish your soul with things that keep it on fire. You will always face with more work, with more demands what from family, friends, business partners, or you name it. Most of these are no fun or at least you won’t find much inspiration there–as for much of the time all that people want from you is to get things done. In such a demanding world of relentless management, a society of consumers, fast food lovers and Instagram addicts, there isn’t plenty of room for soul work. So, seek this “room” in your “unofficial” hours, when you are all alone with yourself (perhaps dancing like crazy, your cat being your only audience), offline, playing loud music on the speakers and preparing a vegetable soup without following any recipe. The copy of that book you want to read–don’t keep it on the shelves; place it on the table, in front of you, so that you remain reminded reading is your priority tonight. Be persistent and fight for your weekly hours of liberation, where you get to do things that really soothe your soul and amaze you. — Stefan from Quintaum
